THE WANDERING DP PODCAST: NEER ARTIST EPISODES

Founder of Old Fast Glad Mark LaFluer

The Wandering DP Podcast has become a resource for cinematographers and fans of the craft alike. Arriving sometime in 2014, the podcast has given public insight on how cinematographers approach their career, their art, as well as shared episodes focused on education and overview of camera tech.

Here we are sharing episodes featuring some of the NEER cinematographers Dillon Schneider, director / DP Ramon Goni, cinematographer Geoff George, director / DP Thomas Simon, former founder Brent Mata, Agency Director Chandra Feltus, and Agent Malin Stenborg.

Virtual Production - Geoff George

This week we welcome back cinematographer Geoff George to chat about the future of virtual production for cinematographers.

Geoff was previously on the podcast in Episode #282 where you can hear all about his more traditional work and history in cinematography.

All productions want better, faster, and cheaper and going virtual certainly offers two of these options as low hanging fruit.  It is up to the guardians of the image to make sure all three are possible.

The Crusades - Dillon Schneider

On the show this week we are chatting with repeat guest, cinematographer Dillon Schneider.

Dillon was first on the show back in Episode #286 and he was just about to launch into production on his first feature film.  He is back this week to tell us all about the experience and share a number of insights from the process.

Geoff George

Geoff George is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles. Born in Detroit, Michigan and a graduate of the University of Michigan, and heavily influenced by his Rust Belt roots, Geoff has created compelling images for music videos, feature films, commercials, and documentaries. After working in camera department on feature films under the guidance of DP’s such as Benoit Debie, Larry Fong, and James Laxton, Geoff began bringing his own style to clients such as Vice, Timberland, Under Armor, and Chevy, musicians like Royce da 5’9 and Eminem, Atlantic Records strongholds like Danny Brown and ICP, and European acts Carpenter Brut, Opeth, and Dividuals. Geoff’s narrative credits include numerous shorts and two features (The Pickle Recipe and Ovid: The Art of Love). With a keen eye for capturing urban environments, he worked as 2nd Unit DP on It Follows, Orion, and Cash Only. In 2017 he was awarded Best Cinematography for the film Break My Bones at the Rhode Island Film Festival. In 2019 Geoff was a recipient of the Emerging Cinematographer Award from the International Cinematographer’s Guild Local 600.

Ramón J. Goñi

As a highly versatile artist, Ramon’s work spans from fashion and entertainment to sci-fi, film, and LGBTQ+ narratives.

Every project and collaboration he involves himself with stems from his passion to break barriers. To find solutions through film and storytelling.

Over the last few years Ramon has directed and filmed the promotional campaigns for some of the most awarded international TV shows such as Netflix’s “The Crown”, “Narcos”, or Amazon’s "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel".

VANITY FAIR’s first-ever Hollywood Portfolio short film, went viral online and was featured as part of the official selection of several international fashion film festivals (London, Milan, Berlin) winning the fashion short of the year award at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia.

As a queer filmmaker, he seeks to bring out relatability with those that the world typically labels as different. His venture into sci-fi stems from his longing to express his vision of a better, more inspiring  future - stories rooted in the present and past.

An avid surfer, Ramon approaches every shoot as a different type of wave. In the ocean he’s grown acutely aware of the swell power, wind, water conditions, and of course, other humans. This approach translates into his flow on set, and his journey in filmmaking.
